What is Search Engine Optimization?

Headings – Headings are the HTML tags from H1 to H6. Each page (web page) of the website must have only one H1 heading tag, so that crawler will understand the topic of the page. Subheadings can have tags from H2 to H6.

Meta Tags – Meta tags are the summary of individual webpages on SERP. Each web page must have unique meta tags.
Meta tags contain
i) Meta Title – 55 to 60 characters.
ii) Meta Description – 150 to 160 characters

Keywords – Also called Tags must be included in meta title and meta description. Meta tags are uploaded in source code, and they will be visible on SERPs (search engine results pages).

Content – The content of the topic should be quality, unique, relevant, & engaging.

Internal & External Links – Internal link helps to increase traffic, to engage users on site, and also helps to rank the website. Where the external links build the trust factor.

Footer – The website structure should be completed with legal information and it could be added to the footer.

Sitemap – The sitemap is the hierarchical representation (URL’s path) of a website. It helps the crawler to crawl all the web pages when visiting a website.
